Recruiting for your staffing agency is a continuous and ongoing event that seems to never end. The money many staffing agencies spend to recruiting can at times range in the upper thousands per recruit.
But, this is not the best way to go after recruits if you are a staffing agency. Why? Because the staffing world is such that the turnover rate is very high at times. Those rates then become contraindications for spending money to recruit.
How then do you overcome the need to find candidates over the need to pay money to find the candidates?
This idea I am going to present to you should be used continuously and should be used by all members of your staff.
Make every member of your staff a unpaid recruiter!
Yes, you heard me right! An unpaid recruiter!
Here is how it can work. Everybody in your staff should be encouraged and expected to recruit whenever they are working.
Offer an incentive, a bonus or a gas card (this works great today)
Your employees can reach much more people and convince a higher number of perspective employees than you every could without spending a dime.
Sure you will have to pay a finder’s fee, but that comes only after the employee works so many shifts.
In effect, the employees work has paid for the finder’s fee.
The number of people that your field employees can recruit will grow exponentially.
Use this technique along with other techniques to have a complete and dynamic recruiting event. Those are essential to continuously have a pool of staff to grab from.
