If you have been anywhere near the Warrior Forum recently, you will have seen that there has been a great buzz about making money by helping local bricks-n-mortar businesses either get a presence on the web, or improve their websites so that they actually start making money for the business owners.
It all started around new year, when Andrew Cavenagh wrote a thread about how anyone with basic Internet marketing and website design skills can make a lot of money by becoming a consultant to local offline businesses.
That forum thread went wild, and within a day or two had spawned over 8 pages of replies as other forum members saw the potential of the offline market.
That thread also spawned Andrew’s ebook, “Offline Gold for Online Marketers”. It also created a whole new niche that was always there, but few had ever thought about. It also spawned a dozen other products that other Warriors created to show struggling online marketers how, even with minimal Internet marketing skills and knowledge, could make a great deal of money selling their services to offline business owners.
The thing is, many offline businesses have websites. They know it is the thing to do in this day and age. They have one built, probably by a “professional” website design company, who charge them several hundred or even a few thousand for it. Most of these sites are brochure type sites, they show visitors what the business does, and it will have the address and contact details for the business.
The problem with this is that there is rarely anything on the website that compels the visitor to either contact the website owner, or actually go to the business premises to buy a product or two. This leaves the business owner out of pocket and with a bad taste about how the Internet can help grow his business.
With your knowledge of Internet marketing, direct response website building, search engine optimisation, link building and driving qualified leads to a website, you are perfectly positioned to help offline business owners make more money, and in turn make a good living for yourself.
Even if you don’t know some of these things, you do know which forums to go to and get answers to your questions, or get contacts to outsource the work you need to get done.
So how do you become a Local Internet Business Consultant? Talk to business owners, walk into their premises and strike up a conversation with them, let them tell you about their business and marketing, and then tell them what you do. You’ll have them hooked in no time.
Discover how you can get local business owners to pay you to teach them how to improve or gain their presence on the Internet, with this complete business-in-a-box, Make 10K in a Weekend.
